Northern Ontario Internship Program

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) has opened a funding program to support the hiring of recent graduates in Northern Ontario. Through the Northern Ontario Internship Program (NOIP), businesses can receive a grant up to 50 percent of a recent graduate’s salary to a maximum contribution of $31,500 , for a 52 week internship.  NOIP helps these businesses to remain competitive by attracting recent graduates to northern Ontario.

To be eligible under this program, companies must be in business at least one year and be from a target sector, such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, digital economy, and health sciences.  Eligible candidates must have graduated in the last three years with a diploma program or post secondary degree. Companies must ensure that they provide the intern with first time employment in their field of study. Funding approval is required prior to recruitment and applications will be accepted until March 31, 2017.
