DC Foods to Receive SWODF Funding for Plant Expansion

Yesterday, MPP Daiene Vernile announced that the Ontario government will contribute $800 thousand in support to DC Foods for their expansion project.  DC Foods currently employs 151 employees in Waterloo, and will undergo a $8 million investment to expand the plant and to add new equipment this year.

The project will help DC Foods expand its production capacity by 30 per cent and grow its annual revenue from $50 million to $80 million over the next four years, which will effectively add 50 jobs to the region.

“This company has been an important driver of our local economy,” Vernile said.  After the recent closing of the Schneiders plant in Kitchener, Don Kilimnik, General Manager of DC Foods, can attest to the fact that the industry is still alive and well.
