FedDev Announces Creation of Canadian Centre for Product Validation

On March 6, 2015, it was announced that London-based Fanshawe College in southern Ontario will be receiving an $8.1 million federal contribution to build a 20,000 square foot facility to validate and test industrial, internationally developed products for market. The Canadian Centre for Production Validation (CCPV) will be the first facility in Canada to offer these two services in one establishment, with Texas and Germany being the only two other contenders in the world that provide product validation and testing in single locations.

London is already known as a key player in product exportation in a variety of sectors, especially defense and automotive, and the establishment of the CCPV will help solidify the city’s status as a competitive hub for manufacturing while stimulating job creation in southern Ontario. Prior to the latest investment to Fanshawe College, FedDev has supported London-based businesses in the last four years by providing $100 million in investments to innovative technology- and manufacturing-centered companies.
