Northern Ontario Development Program Funds Innovation

Small to medium sized companies located in Northern Ontario that are looking to invest in innovative projects that will lead to commercialization should consider the Innovation stream of the Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP). This repayable fund focuses on increasing innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in Northern Ontario. The key sectors are biotechnology, mining and forestry, agri-food, information and communications technology, renewable energy, and manufacturing.

The program funds up to 33% of eligible capital costs and 50% of eligible non-capital costs. The program is looking to fund SMEs that create and retain jobs while providing growth and competitiveness in Northern Ontario. Some of the eligible capital costs include research and development as well as equipment purchases. Eligible non-capital costs include training, marketing, and professional services.

Our NorthBridge team of business analysts and technical writers can assist with the identification of eligible projects, the NODP application, the preparation of financial information, the creation of business plans, and the facilitation of meetings and required reporting after application submission.

NorthBridge Consultants’ Canadian Business Blog is dedicated to bringing businesses news and information to help them identify and access the most appropriate government funding programs.
