North Ontario Development Program: Business Growth and Competitiveness

Are you located in Northern Ontario? Does your business have a vested interest in fostering economic growth in your area, offering valuable work experience to youth, or increasing the competitiveness of your Northern Ontario community? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you should consider accessing the Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP). The NODP is the flagship program offered by FedNor with the intent to support community economic development, business growth, and innovation. Through the Business Growth and Competitiveness stream, NODP offers repayable contributions to offset the following project costs:

Non-Capital (Up to 50% of eligible costs):

  • Fees for professional and technical services, including market, trade and export expertise;
  • Costs related to business management training;
  • Costs related to producing and disseminating results of studies/plans;
  • Marketing costs, including design, promotional materials, advertising, product demonstrations and participation at trade shows; and
  • Travel expenses and labour costs.

Capital (Up to 33% of eligible costs):

  • Servicing of industrial lands;
