Canada Media Fund offers a number of programs under the convergent stream, which allocates money to both production and development costs, and the experimental stream, which allocates money based off of production costs, administrative costs such as marketing and prototyping and digital linear series costs. These programs are primarily designed for English and French language projects, and additional funding is directed towards other languages, Indigenous projects, and international partnerships.
In the 2022-2023 program, CMF is providing of $365,817 to be allocated between English and French projects with English projects receiving $228,223 ($29,000 for the experimental stream and $198,623 for the convergent stream). French language projects receive $114,094 in funding ($14,800 for the experimental stream and $99,294 for the convergent stream).

Eligible companies must be for-profit Canadian-controlled Canadian corporations with a head office based in Canada OR A Canadian broadcaster, public or private, that is licensed to operate as such by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
CMF is a permanent fund which accepts applications on varying deadlines dependent on the program (typically 1-2 intake periods per year).
