ICTC Career Focus Hiring Grant

The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) has launched a hiring program by the name of CareerConnect. This program assists businesses to obtain funding for hiring post-secondary graduates who are between the ages of 15-30. Eligible companies can receive 50% of the eligible participant’s salary up to $16,000. These graduates must currently be unemployed or underemployed and be looking to gain valuable work experience. The employer must provide full-time employment for a minimum of 3 months and be willing to consider hiring the intern on a full-time basis once the placement is complete.   Graduates must be placed in an eligible Information and Communications Technology position, some examples which include: graphics/web designers, technical writers, web developers, computer programmers, IT support, electrical/computer engineers.

To be eligible for ICTC, employers must be in a private sector operating in a high demand field. Applications are currently being accepted, are reviewed on a first-come-first-serve basis, and will continue until funding is exhausted.
