Hiring Grants – Career Focus Program

The Career Focus program provides funding for organizations to create career-related work experiences for post-secondary graduates. Eligible companies can receive up to $20,000 per intern for a maximum timeframe of 25 weeks.

Candidates that are eligible for this program must be:

  • Between the ages of 15-30
  • Post-secondary graduates
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

The purpose of the program is to provide youth with the information, skills, and work experience they need to become part of the workforce.  It is advisable that companies have a mentor in place to help coach the candidate. Funding decisions are based on regional and local priorities, community needs, program terms and conditions, and available funding. Career Focus is currently accepting applications for funding and will continue to do so on an ongoing basis.
