Funding to Support Economic Development in Eastern Ontario

In rural-based communities in eastern Ontario, aboriginal-based organizations, non-profit organizations, and legal commercial enterprises can receive up to $100,000 per annum, or a maximum of 50% eligible expenditures, from the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) to create new businesses or expand existing businesses as well as foster community-based initiatives for local community growth.

Several expenditures are eligible for funding from the EODP, including marketing activities, research and development, internship and job placement initiatives, as well as development-based activities in industries including manufacturing and tourism. Additionally, trade show attendance is also considered an eligible cost, and up to 20% of equipment-related expenditures are eligible for reimbursement. There are several ineligible expenditures, such as costs related to municipal infrastructure and basic website development. Main operating expenditures are also ineligible for reimbursement.

Under the EODP, projects may be submitted into one of the three following streams: business development (BD), community innovation (CI), or collaborative economic development projects (CEDP). NorthBridge can help you to determine which stream is the most suitable for your proposed project, as well as assist to prepare and organize the necessary documentation to submit and support the claim.
