For: Ontario-based agri-food companies looking to undertake innovative projects
The Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative supports agri-food research and innovation projects in the province, corresponding to the Grow Ontario Strategy. The program, funded jointly by the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, aims to support sector resiliency, sustainable growth, address business challenges, and expand market opportunities. Streams include Pilot and demonstration, Commercialization, Applied research, and Knowledge translation and transfer. Up to 100% of costs can be covered through the program.
Applications to the next intake for OAFRI will open in October 2024.
For: Southern Ontario-based food- and agri-tech companies looking to adopt clean technologies
Through Bioenterprise, Sustainable Growth and Adoption Program (SGAP) provides non-repayable funding to late-stage food- and agri-tech businesses for projects which address clean growth, expansion, modernization, and sustainability. The program aims to de-risk the adoption and integration of clean technologies in the food and agri-tech sectors.
Applications to Sustainable Growth and Adoption Program (SGAP) will be accepted until October 30, 2024.
For: Quebec-based companies looking to adopt sustainable business practices
Fonds Ecoleader, a program delivered through the Government of Quebec, offers support to companies in meeting environmental challenges by adopting eco-friendly business practices and acquiring clean technologies. Eligible projects may involve increasing recyclability of products; reducing GHG emissions; extending product lifespans; reducing energy usage; and more. For the upcoming intake, which will fund up to 75% of project costs, projects must end by January 31, 2025.
Applications to Fonds Ecoleader will be accepted until November 30, 2024.
For: Canadian SMEs looking to undertake R&D projects related to clean technologies
Eureka Clusters encourage international collaboration through industry-driven research, development, and innovation programs. Eurogia is the clean technology cluster under Eureka which provides funding to support clean technology R&D in areas including hydrogen and renewable energy technology for generation and storage; ICT technologies for tracking CO2; energy-efficient housing, digital twin, smart cities, and IoT; and AI and big data technologies as applied to energy use optimization.
Applications to Eurogia are due by November 15, 2024.
For: Canadian SMEs looking to undertake R&D projects related to electronics
Eureka Clusters encourage international collaboration through industry-driven research, development, and innovation programs. Xecs, Eureka’s electronic components and systems clusters, provides funding to support R&D in micro and nano-electronics and photonics with applications including agrifood and natural resources, digital industry, digital society, energy, health and well-being, and mobility.
Full applications to Xecs are due by April 16, 2025, with project outlines due by January 23, 2025.
