For: SMEs looking to advance food innovations and research outcomes
Canada Food Innovation Network (CFIN)’s Innovation Booster supports SMEs in addressing innovation challenges and technical hurdles being faced due to capacity limitations. Projects may receive up to 50% reimbursement and must correspond to at least one of CFIN’s priorities (Smart Product and Process Development, Food Ecosystem Sustainability, and/or Agile and Safe Supply Chains).
An open theme call for CFIN’s Innovation Booster will open on February 14, 2024, and close on March 14, 2024.
For: Canadian companies looking to work on innovative wood-based construction projects
The Green Construction through Wood Program (GCWood) supports projects which result in reduced GHG emissions, accelerated adoption of innovative building technologies and systems, updated building codes, and affordable housing and community infrastructure.
Applications to the GCWood Program will be accepted until March 31, 2024
For: Ontario-based businesses in agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products looking for mentorship
The Grow Accelerator Hub is an initiative for Ontario-based organizations which provides mentoring and advisory services for business growth, as well as supports for innovation adoption. Projects must address one of the Ontario agriculture research priority areas, and align with the goals set out in the Grow Ontario Strategy.
Application intake is currently open, with Round 1 starting on April 1, 2024.
For: Quebec-based companies looking to lead innovative AI projects
The Quebec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy aims to support business growth, science and innovation, and export and investments. Through their call for projects in quantum technologies, they aim to develop quantum research, encourage collaboration, position Quebec as a leader in quantum technology through increasing innovation capacity, and support projects which lead to economic benefits. The program consists of several streams, including one for startups, one for SMEs, and two other streams for collaborative projects.
Applications to the program are due by May 30, 2024.
For: Canadian companies looking to adopt new technologies in the forestry sector
The Investments in Forestry Industry Transformation (IFIT) supports Canadian organizations in adopting transformative technologies and products in the forestry sector. Specifically, the program aims to improve the forestry sector’s environmental performance through a Capital Investment projects stream and a Studies stream.
The 2024 call for applications for Investments in Forestry Industry Transformation (IFIT) is open, with Letters of Interest due by June 21, 2024.
For: Companies looking to provide work-integrated learning placements
Electricity Human Resources Canada’s (EHRC) Empowering Futures Program provides subsidies for work-integrated learning opportunities. Eligible electricity generation, transmission, distribution, or related manufacturers, as well as companies supporting renewable electricity, are eligible for $5000-$7000 per apprenticeship.
Applications to Empowering Futures are due by March 21, 2024.
