The ElevateIP program was launched as one of several programs under the National IP Strategy, designed to help businesses manage and leverage their intellectual property. Overseen by Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED), the program assists business accelerators and incubators in providing start-ups with IP resources.
With proposed investments of $90 million over the next four years, the program has announced the five recipients of funding: Springboard Atlantic Inc., Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec (MAIN), Communitech Corporation, University of Calgary, and New Ventures BC Society. Based in different regions across the country, these organizations will have the opportunity to provide Canadian startups with IP education and awareness, and IP strategy development and implementation. Services provided will include workshops, programming, conferences, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and access to tools and talent.
