Since joining the NorthBridge Consultants technical writing department in October, Kate Hendriks has been a major asset to our team. Her principal role consists of writing and editing SR&ED project narratives and organizing SR&ED project work histories, and she has written for a number of industries, ranging from metalforming and plastics to food processing. She particularly enjoys having the opportunity to research technologies in such a wide range of fields and discover how different businesses are finding ways to innovate existing industry practices.
Born and raised in London, Ontario, Kate holds an Honours BA in English Language and Literature from Western University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Scriptwriting from Algonquin College. Her areas of focus included screenwriting for film and television, playwriting, and scriptwriting for interactive multimedia, in which end users manipulate content. Previously, Kate has worked as an in-house and freelance technical editor and proofreader, working with material ranging from engineering and medical dissertations for science journals to short- and feature-length screenplays. She has also performed online-based technical writing on the topics of extrusions and CNC technology.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys learning Japanese, for which she is working toward her proficiency accreditation, and training for and running mud run obstacle races. Kate also writes screenplays, and she is currently working on a science fiction script that incorporates martial arts philosophy.
